About The Event
Theme: THRIVE
A day filled with brilliant speakers, thought-provoking videos and mind-blowing conversations. TEDxMcMasterU is a unique event that will unleash new ideas, inspire and inform. This year, the TEDxMcMasterU event will be a hybrid format, consisting of a virtual conference followed by an in-person meet and greet. No McMaster University affiliation is required to attend.
The virtual event: (virtual + hybrid ticket access) Our virtual event will be hosted through Hopin, our platform of choice. Hopin is a proprietary video teleconferencing online conference-hosting platform. Attendees will log on and attend the event from 10:00-2:30 PM. The virtual event will consist of live opening ceremonies, streamed speaker talks and performer acts and breaks. During breaks, we will conduct “fireside chats” with the speakers. These are essentially breakout rooms that attendees can hop in and out of to ask questions and interact with speakers.
The in-person event: (hybrid ticket access) Following the virtual conference, we will be hosting an in-person meet and greet with our speakers and attendees at the David Braley Health Sciences Center in downtown Hamilton. Attendees who purchase a hybrid ticket will have the opportunity to attend and network with all of the speakers. Additionally, all hybrid attendees can pick up their VIP merch packages and take pictures at the TEDxMcMasterU photobooth. Attendees will be designated with a specific time slot for arrival to control crowd flow to ensure COVID-19 protocols are met.
We will send an email invitation to the virtual conference with further details closer to the conference date.
